how do i know what size to order?

our bonnets come in 5 sizes.  our smallest size fits most newborns and our largest size fits most kids ages 4 and up-- and adults!  although we have made rough estimates as far as age of the child they'll fit, there is a very large range of head sizes within each age range.  this means that the best and most reliable way to size a bonnet for your darlin' guy or gal is to measure their head circumference. this is the same measurement that the pediatrician will do when your child is very small.  if you have a flexible measuring tape, use that.  if not, just get a piece of string.  wrap the tape or string loosely around the widest part of your little one's head.  this will be across the forehead and around the widest part of the back of the head.  if you're using the measuring tape, you'll know right away what your measurement is (we use english measurements) and can correspond that to the correct size.  if you're using a piece of string, you'll need to measure the string. 

how do i know if my bonnet fits correctly?

a UB2 bonnet should fit your little one snugly on his or her head, comfortably under the chin (using one OR two snaps), while still giving good coverage and shading in the back and fully covering the ears-- all the way to the bottom of the ear lobes.  If the straps are too short to fasten, then the bonnet is too small.  the pictures on our site show the proper bonnet fit. If your bonnet does not fit, please contact us right away.  we normally allow one free re-ship for sizing issues as long as you still have all the tags and have not washed the bonnet.  we truly want you to LOVE your UB2 and will do what it takes to make that happen!

do you sell your pattern? 

no, unfortunately, we do not sell our pattern. it's an original, copyrighted design.  You can, of course, make one for your own personal use, but you may NOT make the bonnets and sell them-- even if you draw the pattern yourself by looking at our bonnets.  please play nice!  UB2 is owned by a work-at-home mom... we're not your average faceless corporation.  thank YOU for understanding and respecting intellectual property-- and for purchasing from the site that started the Urban Baby Bonnet revolution!  :-)  If price is truly an issue, contact us.  we never let someone go without a bonnet just because they can't afford it.
